As can be seen, the power recoverable increase as the waste heat temperature leaving the pre-heater reduces. However, the greater power output is achieved with decreased cycle efficiency. The reason for this is that the additional power generated is derived from a stream of steadily decreasing temperature. Hence, the efficiency with which the additional power is recovered declines as the waste heat exit temperature reduces.
