Potencial disponible lodos EDAR Fuente: RESA, Estudio Situación y potencial de valorización energética directa de residuos No obstante, para residuos con un alto contenido en humedad, como sería el caso de los lodos, convendría hacer un balance energético que incluyera el consumo de energía que se produce en la preparación del residuo para la valorización energética posterior. Se ha de intentar en la medida de lo posible reducir estos consumos de energía previos, aprovechando el calor generado en otra instalación para la reducción de la humedad y el aumento por tanto de su poder calorífico. Residuos de construcción y demolición (RCD) Los RCD son aquellos que se generan a través de la construcción, demolición, reforma y rehabilitación de edificios e infraestructuras y de la excavación. Están recogidos en el Real Decreto 105/2008, por el que se regula la producción y gestión de los residuos de construcción y demolición. El PNIR estima que durante 2006 se superaron las 45 millones de t de este tipo de residuos, pero ya hace la salvedad de la dificultad de encontrar estadísticas fiables acerca de la generación y gestión de RCD. A partir de los datos del PNIR y conversaciones con el sector, se ha estimado la siguiente evolución en la generación de RCD valorizables energéticamente (excluidas otras opciones como el reciclado): Tabla 4.8.30.
