Plan de Energías Renovables 2011- 2020. Desde el año 2000 hasta 2008 los crecimientos en el consumo de biomasa han estabilizado su tendencia creciente en los principales subsectores, pero los cambios producidos a partir de 2005 en algunas empresas destacadas del sector pasta y papel hacia grandes inversiones en cogeneración con biomasa dan lugar a grandes expectativas de crecimiento de estas aplicaciones. Este hecho, unido a los nuevos proyectos de cogeneración para plantas de pelets y en el sector agroalimentario permite establecer un previsible crecimiento de la cogeneración con biomasa en el sector industrial. Utilizando la tendencia de crecimiento desde el año 2000, e incluso desde 1985, se presentan las siguientes previsiones de consumo para los próximos años, hasta 2020: Figura 4.3.15. Previsión de consumo de biomasa en el sector industrial Fuente: elaboración propia y datos MITyC Esta evolución lleva a un consumo previsto para 2020 en el sector de industria de 1.773.000 tep con un aumento relativo del consumo de un 20% respecto a 2008. En cualquier caso la evolución del consumo de biomasa en los sectores industriales se encuentra íntimamente ligada a la marcha económica general y a la de los sectores usuarios en particular. - Formulación de objetivos Como consecuencia de lo anterior, se han establecido los siguientes objetivos al 2020: Tabla 4.3.17.
