Dentro de las tecnologías de energías renovables, se mantendrá el protagonismo de la energía eólica e hidráulica, con más del 70% de toda la producción eléctrica renovable, con un claro predominio de la primera. A ellas se sumarán la tecnología solar termoeléctrica, y la fotovoltaica, cuyas aportaciones eléctricas seguirán creciendo a lo largo de los próximos años. Destaca también la incorporación al mix eléctrico de tecnologías renovables emergentes que hasta ahora han estado ausentes o bien han tenido una representación marginal. Es el caso de nuevas tecnologías como la eólica marina, la geotermia y las energías del mar, que unidas alcanzarán una aportación de 2.365 GWh al final del periodo. De entre éstas, destaca la aportación en 2020 de la eólica marina, con una producción de 1.845 GWh. Adicionalmente, merece especial mención el esfuerzo a realizar sobre tecnologías como el biogás, la biomasa y los residuos domésticos, de gran potencial energético, que hasta ahora han evolucionado por debajo de su potencialidad. En conjunto, estas fuentes aportarían una producción eléctrica mayor a 12.000 GWh en 2020. En cuanto a la evolución de la potencia instalada de las distintas fuentes energéticas para el periodo 2010-2020, véase la figura 3.3.9, cabe destacar la previsión de un gran aumento relativo en potencia instalada de energías renovables, un 58% en 2020 con respecto a 2010, alcanzando al final del periodo una potencia total de cerca de 67 GW. Este hecho implica la instalación de más de 24 GW adicionales a los hoy existentes en una clara apuesta por un parque de generación eléctrica más libre de carbono. Dentro del parque renovable al 2020 destaca el área eólica con 35 GW instalados, el área hidráulica con 16,6 GW, y en tercer lugar la energía fotovoltaica con más de 7 GW, al final del periodo. 66PDF Image | PLAN DE ENERGIAS RENOVABLES
