Biomass to energy counter current gasiFication Processes Advantages at a glance ■ The counter current process has been operated in multiple plants for many years; each system is up and running for over 8,000 hours annually ■ The process received positive results from its review by the German Biomass Research Center (DBFZ), part of the German Federal Environment Ministry ■ Landscaping materials are used as fuel. This can be sold at the maximum EEG tariff. The wood is cut up and fed directly into the system with a water content of 30 to 50 % ■ The system tolerates a fine fraction of up to 25 %, composed of pieces of bark, needles and sawdust ■ Relax Energy, as Business Partner, can make wood available through its contractual partners Vario and the renewable energy plant consortium in Dorsten (ARGE NaWaRo) ■ The gas has a low ash content; it makes up max. 1.5 % of the solid content of the gasified fuel ■ The plant ensures electrical efficiency of 25 %. By integrating an ORC module, the electrical efficiency can be increased to up to 30 % ■ Developed plant sites are available for investors.
