 Led a group of engineers, graduate students and technician to develop a co-functional power and cooling demonstration system. The bismuth telluride thermoelectric modules were close coupled with an organic Rankine cycle (ORC). The system has demonstrated its function using laboratory heated air and shown a great potential for this this hybrid technology in many waste heat recovery applications.  Conducted broad innovative research to improve overall energy efficiency for small-scale energy systems, including utilizing waste heat to generate power and cooling for a variety of applications and diffusion-bonded wire mesh on channel heating walls to enhance flow boiling heat transfer in microchannels. Activities including system simulation, component modeling and design, and prototype development. Research Assistant, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon 97331, September 2002 – June 2006  Assisted the PI in the thermal system lab with on-going research projects, including bench-top testing using computer-based data acquisition system, system and component level modeling and design, as well as prototype development. Research Assistant, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas 79409, September 2000 – August 2002  Assisted PIs in the wind tunnel with on-going research projects, including physical simulation of tornados and study of fluid-structure interaction in a moving vortex. Professional Experience Team Lead, Research Institute of Natural Gas Technology (RINGT), China, Jan. 1998 – March 2000  In charge of the design phase for projects such as small-scale compressed natural gas dehydration systems, involving both process and component developments. Mechanical/Process Design Engineer, RINGT, China, July 1992 – December 1997  Mainly focused on component design and process development for various natural gas sweetening and sulfur recovery plants.
