In addition, many applicants protect the geographical areas where the manufacturing sites of their competitors are located. The following picture (Figure 9) shows the distribution of the scientific literature by country, confirming that China is the leading country in terms of scientific publications worldwide for the topics under examination; however, many other countries like United States of America, Russia, India, and some European countries (e.g., Italy, Germany, and France) play a significant role.
