Chapter 6 – Production of Few Layer Graphene in Aqueous Media for Biological Studies liposomes.395 DLS on the diluted G/EggPC showed two clear size distributions (PDI – 0.58 Β± 0.12): ~60 nm attributed to the excess liposomes present in the dispersion and ~400 nm (𝐿𝐷𝐿𝑆) attributed to the lipid-coated graphene, whereas, the 𝐿𝐷𝐿𝑆 of the washed G/EggPC- was ~350 nm (PDI – 0.38 Β± 0.02). The graphene exfoliation efficiency of EggPC was investigated using AFM analysis. Figure 6.10 shows representative AFM height and phase image of G/EggPC on mica. Statistical analysis over 60 flakes indicated the 𝐿𝐴𝐹𝑀 was 350 Β± 150 nm, and the exfoliation yield of 𝑁1⁄𝑁𝑇 ~17 % and 𝑁1βˆ’5⁄𝑁𝑇 > 92 % with γ€ˆπ‘γ€‰ as 5.3 Β± 2.1. Representative Raman spectra of G/EggPC (Figure 6.10g and Appendix 9.4) showed typical Raman bands: G band, 2D band and D band. The shape of the 2D band and 𝐼2𝐷⁄𝐼𝐺 ~0.45 indicates FLG,48 agreeing with the AFM analysis. The presence of the D’ 180
