Plan de Energías Renovables 2011- 2020. En España, la industria de la energía solar térmica que ha soportado las dificultades económicas y financieras recientes se asienta sólidamente, como demuestran el gran número de fabricantes de captadores solares térmicos existentes en 2010, con una capacidad de fabricación superior al millón de metros cuadrados. Existen en España más de 40 empresas que manufacturan equipos solares térmicos, mientras que la venta y distribución de equipos está soportada por más de 100 empresas, que dan empleo directo a más de 6.000 personas según la Asociación de la Industria Solar Térmica (ASIT).
