Competencia con usos no energéticos Los orígenes de la biomasa son muy heterogéneos, de forma que para evaluar los potenciales de cada uno de ellos ha sido necesario realizar una serie de trabajos en paralelo con una primera clara división entre la biomasa de origen industrial (subproductos de industrias agroforestales) y el resto (cultivos energéticos, herbáceos o leñosos y restos de origen agrícola y forestal). Los datos de la biomasa de origen industrial se han obtenido de los balances energéticos del MITyC y de las encuestas a sectores industriales del INE. En este sentido se han evaluado, por separado las industrias forestales, la producción de lejías negras y las industrias agroalimentarias, obteniéndose una estimación conservadora de 12.000.000 t/año de media que permitirán alcanzar los objetivos planteados. Para conocer los potenciales de la biomasa de origen no industrial ha sido necesario desarrollar una herramienta informática basada en un Sistema de Información Geográfica, que ha permitido evaluar, comparar y obtener los datos de cada uno de los orígenes. Se han desarrollado dos estudios distintos para cada fuente de biomasa no industrial (forestal o agrícola), que permitieran establecer los potenciales generados por los distintos tipos, en los que se distingue entre tres tipos de potenciales: - Potencial total: biomasa procedente de todas las superficies cubiertas por masas arboladas de interés forestal, excluyendo los parques nacionales. - Potencial accesible: biomasa procedente de superficies consideradas como aprovechables debido a razones ecológicas (altitud), mecánicas (pendiente), etc. Además, se ha tenido en cuenta la eficacia en la recogida. - Potencial disponible: biomasa accesible que no entra en competencia con otros usos como es, por ejemplo, el maderero. 175PDF Image | PLAN DE ENERGIAS RENOVABLES
