Por ejemplo, un valor del 30% no significa necesariamente que el 30% de los vehículos emplean siempre la mezcla y el 70% restante no la emplea nunca. En el extremo opuesto, tampoco significa que todos los vehículos utilizan la mezcla el 30% de las veces que llenan el depósito. El escenario describe una situación intermedia entre ambas que, como resultado promedio, da un uso del 30% de esa mezcla para ese tipo de vehículo.
