En la evolución histórica desde 1990 y en las previsiones del consumo de energía primaria, véase la figura 3.4.1, puede observarse la reducción del consumo asociada al escenario de eficiencia energética adicional, derivado de las actuaciones de eficiencia energética que se impulsarán en el periodo de vigencia del nuevo PER. El ahorro previsible en el año 2020 derivado de las medidas de eficiencia energética supera ligeramente los 23 Mtep. Figura 3.4.1. Estas energías irán ganando cuota progresivamente en la cobertura de la demanda primaria de energía, fundamentalmente en detrimento del petróleo, cubriendo conjuntamente cerca del 50% de la demanda de energía primaria en el horizonte del 2020, por encima de la aportación del petróleo, que en 2020 se estima que representará el 36,4% del consumo primario de energía. 73PDF Image | PLAN DE ENERGIAS RENOVABLES
