La tendencia actual apunta a una tímida recuperación, igualmente manifiesta a través de los indicadores antes mencionados, si bien el efecto de la crisis es aún persistente, especialmente en el sector industria. Una valoración de la evolución del consumo energético desglosado según fuentes energéticas permite observar, véase la figura 3.1.10, nuevamente una aceleración en la demanda de los recursos renovables a lo largo de los últimos cinco años. Ello obedece a una apuesta decidida a favor de una mayor incorporación de estos recursos en nuestra cesta energética, especialmente a partir del 2005, así como a una mayor moderación en la demanda por parte de los sectores consumidores, resultado de actuaciones como las enmarcadas dentro de la Estrategia de Ahorro y Eficiencia Energética 2004-2012. Así, el crecimiento del consumo de las fuentes de energía renovables en el periodo 2005-2010 sextuplica al existente en los quince años precedentes, lo cual unido a la evolución de la demanda energética global, sitúa las energías renovables en una posición cada vez más destacada, tanto en términos absolutos como en la cobertura a la demanda. Esta circunstancia convierte al año 2005 en un hito en el análisis de la evolución de las energías renovables. Figura 3.1.10.
