Plan de Energías Renovables 2011- 2020. la economía española, se ha visto acompañada de un descenso aún más acusado de la demanda energética, lo que permite confirmar la existencia de factores ligados a la eficiencia energética, ajenos y anteriores a esta crisis, que repercuten en la mejora de la intensidad energética. Las tendencias actualmente observadas, véase la figura 3.1.3, presentan, por tanto, la sinergia de los efectos derivados de, una parte, del cambio registrado a partir del 2004 en la mejora de la eficiencia, y de otra, de la crisis, que conjuntamente inciden en un acusado descenso de la demanda energética.
