Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions NAMAs are measures proposed by countries to meet their own carbon reduction targets. This mechanism is quite flexible and can be translated into training programmes, policies, regulations, standards, programmes and even financial incentives, covering one or more sectors. Due to their scope, breadth and flexibility, NAMAs can become a bridge between developed and developing countries to facilitate GHG mitigation, as they follow the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities established by the United Nations.
