Many policies shown have been revised or renewed in subsequent years, and some policies shown may have been repealed or lapsed. 2 “Total existing” adds 20 jurisdictions believed to have RPS/Quota policies but whose year of enactment is not known (Ghana, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Palau, Portugal, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, and the Indian states of Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal). In the United States, there are 10 additional states and territories with policy goals that are not legally binding RPS policies (Guam, Indiana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, U.S. Virgin Islands, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia). Three additional Canadian provinces also have non-binding policy goals (Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec).
