344. SOFT FAILURE – A failure of the unit where the unit may be restarted without repair. An example would be a shutdown for an overtemperature and the unit is restarted successfully after a cooldown. 345. SOFTWARE LOAD - This is the software that operates a controller or subassembly (like an SPV or RFC). Each variant of the software that must be loaded into a product is considered a software load. (That is, if three versions of software are needed to control all variants of a product, each of the three is considered one software load.) 346. SOFTWARE RELEASE - The software release is an event that occurs when a software development build is ready to be used by customers or operations. This occurs after the software has completed software release testing (QA) and is controlled by configuration control. The software program I ready for manufacturing release or updates. 347. SPARES KIT – A group or kit of parts that contains the parts, instructions, and packing material required to ship and install a spare part.. 353. SPARE PART – A part, component, assembly, or module (FRU) that replaces a defective part in the MicroTurbine generator system. Not all spare parts are field replaceable (FRU). Typically these parts are installed during a repair effort. 354. SPC – Statistical Process Control. 355. SPV – Smart Proportional Valve used to control the fuel flow into the turbine engine. Used in a high-pressure fuel system. 356. SSR - Silver System Release. 357. STAND ALONE - Operating with the MicroTurbine load not connected to the utility’s power distribution grid, or operating when that grid is not active. 358. STOP ORDER - A Stop Order document shall be prepared to request a work stop on hardware. Engineering will identify the need to issue an Engineering Stop Work Order when a significant problem is identified. Any individual may prepare and submit a Stop Order for approval when they identify a problem. The Stop Order shall stop production, procurement, and assembly of the identified hardware. The release of an ECO lifts (revokes) the Stop Order. 359. SUBASSEMBLY – Two or more detail parts assembled together. Parts may be disassembled without damage to the parts or assembly. Subassemblies are mated with other parts or assemblies at the next higher assemble level. Subassemblies are assigned a core number and an assembly dash number (i.e., 50XXXX-100). 360. SUBSYNCH - Subsynchronous component of the response generally related to vibration response. 361. SUBSYNCH FREQUENCY - Frequency at which the subsynchronous component of the response occurs. 362.
