The rate at which energy is transferred. Electrical energy is usually measured in watts. 284. POWERHEAD – An engineering defined subassembly that defines the core of the MicroTurbine engine. The major static parts in the powerhead are the center housing, diffuser, thrust plate, and seal plate. The rotating components are the compressor impeller, the thrust shaft, and the turbine rotor. 285. POWER FACTOR – The fraction of power actually used by the electrical equipment compared to the total apparent power supplied, usually expressed as a percentage. Power factors apply only to alternating circuits; direct current circuits always exhibit a power factor of 1. A power factor indicates how far the electrical equipment causes the electric current delivered to be out of phase with the voltage. The most used convention is to treat this as a ratio (0 – 1.0) instead of a percent. 286. ppm – Parts per million. PROJECT – A collection of modules or source files that are compiled together and executed in a hardware platform. 291. PRODUCTION (RELEASE) – Parts and configuration released for scheduled production. The Supply Management organization will generate the required requisitions. Production parts and BoM’s are under full configuration management. Documents will go through a formal check, signature, and release process. Subordinate items must be at Production status. 292. PROTOTYPE (RELEASE) – TBD 293. PSD – Prevention of Significant Deterioration. 294. PROPRIETARY – Information that is Capstone sensitive and unique. Proprietary information shall not be distributed to any persons without a “need to know” and only if the proper documents (CNDA, CITR). 295. PSIA – Pounds per square inch absolute. Equal to psig (gage)+ atmospheric pressure. 296. PSIG – Pounds per square inch gage. 0 psig = atmospheric pressure (14.7 at sea level). 1 psig = 27.707 in. of water. 297. PWA – Printed Wiring Assembly. UL & CSA refer to this as PWBA (Printed Wire Board Assembly). 298.
