Maintenance may involve the replacement of consumables based on a timetable (hours or cycles). Example of maintenance would be to replace filters every 4000 hours of operation. Also known as preventative maintenance. 213. MAINTENANCE COMMUNICATION PORT (OR MAINTENANCE PORT) - A Dsub25 RS232 communications port located in the UCB and is available for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. The port is reserved for the use of the organization that is responsible for maintaining the MicroTurbine. Like the user port, the maintenance port may be connected to a local computer or to a modem for remote operation. The use of the maintenance port is protected by a required maintenance password, and allows additional capability over the user port. (The assumption is made that any person using the maintenance port has been trained by a Capstone-approved maintenance course). 214. MAINTENANCE PART – A subset of service parts. Replacement parts that are replaced on a regularly scheduled basis. Maintenance parts are defined in the Systems Operations Manual. 215. MEGAWATT, MW – A unit of electrical power equal to one million (1,000,000) watts or one thousand (1,000) kilowatts. 216. MICROTURBINE GENERATOR ORIENTATION 216.1. FORWARD (FWD) – The end common with the compressor impeller inducer (air flow entrance). 216.2. AFT – The end common with the turbine rotor exducer (exit). 217. MICROTURBINE GENERATOR SYSTEM – A system comprised of modules, and assembles, and accessories that are configured to provide specific functionality. The modules, assemblies, and accessories are interconnected (via harness assemblies and plumbing etc). 218. MoA – Memorandum of Agreement. 219. MODULE (1) – A functional assembly that is intended to be a major building block of the MicroTurbine generator system. Modules are interconnected with harnesses, plumbing etc. The module may be removed from the system for repair. Controller, RFC, battery system, and MicroTurbine generator an example of modules. 220. MODULE (2) – A text formatted computer file that contains source code statements. 221. MoU - Memorandum of Understanding. 222.
