114. EMC – Electromagnetic Compatibility. The capacity of electronic equipment or systems to be operated in the intended operational electromagnetic environment at designed levels of efficiency. 115. ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY – Structure that houses the cart and associated modules, and assemblies that comprise the MicroTurbine generator system. The enclosure is intended to provide protection from the elements. The enclosures conform to the NEMA 250-1997 rating of 3R weather resistance. The enclosure assembly is comprised of the following assemblies: 115.1. ENCLOSURE BASE – The structure that supports the enclosure panels and associated parts. The enclosure base accommodates lifting and handling requirements. The cart rides on the upper surface of the enclosure base when the enclosure assembly is in the “closed” position. 115.2. ENCLOSURE PANELS – Panels that are attached to the enclosure base and vertically encase the cart when the enclosure assembly is in the closed position. 115.3. EXHAUST HOOD/EXHAUST VENT – An assembly designed to allow exhaust from the MicroTurbine and electronic modules to exit the enclosure while offering environmental protection to the MicroTurbine generator system housed within the enclosure assembly. 116. ENERGY – For example: the capability of doing work (potential energy) or the conversion of this capability to motion (kinetic energy). 117. ENGINE BUILD NUMBER – Denotes the number of tiebolt stretches combined with combustor operation. An engine build number starts with build 1. The build number is rolled to the next major build number (i.e., 1 to 2, when the tiebolt is de-stretched after a combustor light. Any changes after a combustor light that doesn’t involve de-stretching the tiebolt shall result in a minor revision change to the build number, i.e., 1 to 1.2 or 2.5 to 2.6). Multiple changes may occur to the engine configuration during any single build number revision. A list of all changes should be documented in the engine build book. 118. ENGINEERING REPORT – Documents that are retained by the engineering group. The documents are assigned a file number, logged, and filed in the engineering library 119. EPA – Environmental Protection Agency (USA). 120. EPRI – Electric Power Research Institute. 121. ERCOT – Electricity Reliability Council of Texas. 122. ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning. 123. ES – Engineering Specification. 124. ESCO – Energy Service Company. 125. ESD – Electrostatic Discharge 126. ESP – Energy Service Provider. 127. ESS – Environmental Stress Screening. 128. ETHERNET – 1) High-speed digital communication used to communicate between the ECM controller’s main processor in a multi-pack system. 2) Used to connect computers and peripherals into a LAN. 129. EXCITER – A device the supplies high energy to the ignitor to initiate the combustion process. The exciter receives the command from the DPC or ECM. 130. EXHAUST DIFFUSER DOME – The sheet metal half-hollow torus (dome) that is attached to the exhaust diffuser and the aft recuperator housing. The exhaust diffuser dome 202PDF Image | Final Technical Report Advanced MicroTurbine System (AMTS) -C200 MicroTurbine -Ultra-Low Emissions MicroTurbine
