Used to compress the airflow when driven by the turbine rotor (or generator during startup). Air is drawn into the rapidly rotating impeller at the inducer or inlet. CONNECTOR – An electronic component that is integral with cables and harnesses. They are the component that mates with the accessory or module to allow electrical connectivity. 78. CONTROLLER - A collection of electronic hardware and software that implements control algorithms. This term is most often applied to the power controller that converts the power out of the generator portion of the engine into power usable by a load. In the most prevalent case, the load will consume 50 or 60 Hertz utility grade alternating current (AC) electricity. 79. CONTROL CIRCUIT – A circuit that carries electric signals but not main power current. 80. CORRECTED EMISSIONS - Emissions normalize raw emissions to 15% oxygen in the exhaust gas pursuant to USEPA 40 CFR 60.332: ppm, corrected = ppm, measured*((20.95- 15)/(20.95-O2,%, measured)) ("9 ppm" is the full power design point for THC and NOx, “15 ppm” is the design point for CO corrected to 15% oxygen on a dry volumetric basis.) 81. COUNTRY KIT – A kit or group of parts that supplement the standard configuration. The kit contains unique parts, labels, manuals etc. that meet the requirements of the country that the system will be deployed. 82. Cp – Capability index, fluctuation in key characteristic or process (engineering tol/6σ). 83. Cpk – Capability index, take in account the centering of key characteristic or process. 84. CR – Change Request. A request form used to gain pre-approval of proposed change. CR’s are optional in the ECO process. 85. CRMS – Capstone Remote Monitoring Software. 86. cUL – The Canadian equivalent to U.S. UL. 87. CURRENT – A flow of electrons in an electrical conductor. The rate of movement of the electricity, measured in amperes. 88. DAS – Data Acquisition System. 89. DC BUS – High voltage, bi-directional link between ECM, LCM and any external device (BCM, FGC) through which power is transmitted. 90. DESIGN LIFE – The time expressed in hours (or start/stop cycles) that a component, assembly, or module is designed to operate. Overhauls and repairs are allowed. It is the useful life of the component, assembly, or module prior to being scrapped. 91. DETAIL LIST – List of parts required to create an inseparable assembly. The detail list resides on the engineering drawing. 92. DEV ASSY – Programmable software. 93. DEVIATION (DEVIATION REQUEST) – A document that requests (and allows once approved) a deviation from the released configuration or design intent.
