A microturbine can withstand hydrogen sulfide (H2S) better than the piston engines. IC gas engine (piston engines) Large IC gas engines for natural gas have been used in power generation for some time, including as reserve units for hospitals and other buildings. Small CHP units with gas piston engines fueled with natural gas or biogas have been used in several areas where electricity is not otherwise available.
