Photo: Turboden.it Stirling engines mainly in use for small CHP installations Stirling engines are developed, for example, in sizes ranging from 9 kWe to 75 kWe. These Stirling engines are mainly for boilers, with the size range between 100 kW and 800 kW. For good heat transfer and high efficiency, the Stirling engine’s heat transfer surfaces should be kept clean. To make cleaning easy, only product gas (biosyngas) from gasified wood fuel should be burned in the boiler.
