The crystal system and lattice constant of the selected lithium manganese oxide was found by applying Sadowayβs method. There are two equations that was used in calculations. First equation is Braggsβ Law, π = 2ππ πππ Ξ»: Wavelength of the cupper target d: Spacing between the planes in the atomic lattice ΞΈ: Angle between the incident ray and the scattering planes Second equation relates lattice constant with d, π = a βh2+π2+l2 From those two equations, following equation is acquired, π2 = sin2π 4π2 h2+π2+l2 Eqn. 2 Eqn. 3 Eqn.4 Here the left side of the equation is constant, which means that the right side of the equation must be a constant value too. Wavelength of the cupper target is known as 1.5418 AΜ.
