8. Pressure Differential
a. b. Since the flow to the nozzles affects the pressure at each end of the spool, movement of the
flapper will change the pressures, causing movement of the spool toward the side of lower
pressure.
When the flapper moves back to the center position, the pressures will be equal, and the
spool will return to its center position.
