The ITmini is the next generation ORC specific designed turbine with magnetic coupling. The all-enclosed turbine is the world's smallest commercially available ORC turbine with a magnetic coupling. The magnetic coupling can be attached to any high speed DC generator such as a RC motor or a DC generator. The coupling can also be attached to any 10 mm shaft of any high speed rotary device, including a AC high speed generator, pump, compressor, etc.
The system has one moving part. Both the turbine and magnetic rotor are attached to the same shaft, which eliminates any external shaft sealing issues. The unit will drive any high speed rotary device.
The ITmini can power a coil directly, or generator. Power output can be routed to a voltage controller, or to a inverter so that AC power can be supplied to a local or utility grid. A standard solar or wind inverter can be used.
The entire turbine assembly is made from 304 Stainless Steel, which is very durable and designed to last years without any maintenance.
The turbine housing is made from 304 Stainless Steel, and uses standard o-rings for seals, and 10-32 inch bolts for both assembly and mounting bores on the bottom and top of the unit.
The inlet is a 3/8 inch NPT and the exit is one large 1-1.5 inch NPT.
This all-in-one unit can be used in the standard ORC configuration using refrigerants as working fluid, but also with compressed air, and other pressurized flows.
Because this is an expander, it can be used in ORC applications, but also in pressure reducing applications, such as natural gas or chiller reducer valves.
The compact size of the turbine generator allow it to be used in stationary but also mobile (transportation) applications.
The modular block design, allows the unit to be dis-assembled, and re-assembled in a few minutes.

Test Results On Compressed Air (Dec 30, 2011) ITmini 2011 version:
130 psi at 60 cfm and 10,000 RPM will drive the DC generator 32 V and 20 amps (640 watts).
With proper flow and pressure, this turbine will drive a 3 kW high speed generator.

Refrigerant vs. Air:
Refrigerant is 5 times more dense than air, and 10 times more dense than steam.
Test Results On Compressed Air (February 8, 2012):
Tests indicate we can get more power from half the pressure and flow.
No-load tests have shown the turbine can spool up to 40,000 rpm. The bearings are rated for less than 20,000 rpm.
Using a E-150 DC generator we can get 24-120 VDC output. 196 rpm/Volt.
